Inside isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is so much to love about David Sanborn, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since completing 1999’s ‘Corners (For Herbie)’, David Sanborn fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about David Sanborn ever.
|titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Inside.
Daydreaming - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Trance - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Brother Ray is a fine track on any terms. Lisa defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Naked Moon to me is the best you can get from David Sanborn. Cane is absolutely incredible. David Sanborn is one of artists that allow his songs like Ain’t No Sunshine to stand on their own and be heard. Miss You is probably the highlight of the album.
