On the Malta charts, superstar Demis Roussos’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Jim Jones has compared writing for Demis Roussos’s new album to that on ‘The Singles’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. There is so much to love about Demis Roussos, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. The Singles touched my soul like nothing else.

This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Yellow Paper is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Ulysses is the funkiest number on the album. Lyrics of The Secret In Her Eyes are precise and evocative. The Promise has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Once you hear Kyrila, you will listen to it over and over. In Reasons Unknown (When You’re Gone) full palet of sound is used by Demis Roussos to accentuate the presentation. Song For You is another favourite of mine. The sound of Bambina is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. All Is Vanity is one of the coolest songs Demis Roussos has ever recorded. Hot Summernight - A nice song. Put No Love Today into car stereo for your highway driving Highway Home gives good insight into the truths. Charming song, great melody. Had To Run is simply perfect. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Singles. I like All Together because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Woman have really caught my ear and imagination. Auntie is one of these floating songs. Romance had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Lover’s Dance pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with With Love. Squirrel Song is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. La Mer marked the continuation of Demis Roussos in style evolution.
