It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Elliott Smith energies, virtually a rebirth. Elliott Smith had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Elliott Smith was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Elliott Smith and Unreleased Studio Recordings together. To me Elliott Smith is the best band ever.
Stained Glass Eyes is the album’s biggest hit, I think.
Brand New Game (3:15) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Sorry My Mistake (instrumental) - A nice song. No Life very upbeat. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. I now have Mr. Goodmorning (instrumental) as one of my personal favorites. First time I heard Splitsville was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.[Instrumental 2] has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. It took me a little time but I ended up loving High Times. New Disaster is a fine track on any terms. Such hits like Almost Over will leave you hooked. [Sticks and Stones] - This one is lively and fun. The sound of Everything’s Okay is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Stickman - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Elliott Smith rocks harder than ever with From a Poison Well. You have to get essence of the True Love’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Song See You in Heaven is actually a funny song. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Unreleased Studio Recordings.
