This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Elo. This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Elo has. John Digester has compared writing for Elo’s new album to that on ‘The Light Shines On’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Old England Town

Old England Town gets you up and jumping. At Me Now is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Elo ever produced. Music and lyrics of Momma creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Showdown is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Batle Of Marson Moor is the more seemingly obscure song on The Light Shines On that bear up best to repeated listening. In The Night pretty much defines how I feel spiritually.
