four years ago, Ennio Morricone briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “L’ Attentato”. Since completing 1999’s ‘La Posada, No. 1′, Ennio Morricone fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been four years Ennio Morricone’ last studio CD, “C’Era Una Volta il West” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. One of Ennio Morricone’s best albums yet.
Armonica is a striking and quite long song.
Ennio Morricone sings L’ Attentato in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. C’Era Una Volta il West is probably one of Ennio Morricone’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. La Posada, Pt. 3 is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Listening to Jill you can hear that Ennio Morricone has still amazing chemistry with band members. L’ Uomo Dell Armonica motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Frank is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Ennio Morricone released so far. I like L’ Orchestraccia because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Some of the arrangements found on C’Era Una Volta il West are surprisingly edgy. I like to sing along with L’ America Di Jill, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. L’ Uomo is possibly the best song Ennio Morricone has come up. Epilogo good vocals. L’ Ultimo Rantolo is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Addio a Cheyenne is simple, dignified and effective, Ennio Morricone refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Finale, which shows, blatantly, how much Ennio Morricone has evolved as a singer.
