This disc has all of the essential Ennio Morricone classics. This is one of the best Cd’s Ennio Morricone has dropped to date. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Ennio Morricone. I wish that “The Mission” album was instrumental.
This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Mission.
Falls (1:55) - awsome. Gabriel’s Oboe is a good listen every once in a while. Ave Maria Guarani is the song that really did it for me. Ennio Morricone must have run out of lyrics on the next track Brothers. Vita Nostra has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Ennio Morricone’s strong vocals come to the fore. Climb is the most memorable and excellent. Remorse is probably the most interesting track on The Mission. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Blew our minds when we first heard The Mission. River - A classic Ennio Morricone track. After few listenings I started to like Gabriel’s Oboe more and more. Te Deum Guarani - This one is lively and fun. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Asuncion is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Ennio Morricone ever produced. Voice of Ennio Morricone in Alone is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Guarani is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Ennio Morricone released so far. The Sword is marvelous and different song. I have all of Ennio Morricone’s tracks and Miserere is probably the most his introspective effort.
