four years ago, George Winston briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Billy In The Low Land”. Self-described as Rock with lots of words, George Winston comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Since George Winston last CD (Montana - A Love Story) on SixSteps records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Valse Frontenac motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others.
Billy In The Low Land marked the continuation of George Winston in style evolution. Little House I Used To Live In great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Montana Glide is excellent and different song. George Winston sings Nevertheless, Hello in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. When listening to Joy, Hope, and Peace, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. You Send Me is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Overall a nice softer song. I think Mountain Winds Call Your Name is the best song George Winston has ever done. Music Box (Kojo No Tsuki) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Raining In Her (The Muse) is probably the most interesting track on Montana - A Love Story. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Goodnight Irene - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of George Winston. Sweet Soul (Gbajie) is so unique, as each one of the songs is. In Sky (Goobajie) the music gets its power.
