There is so much to love about Harry Belafonte, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On Live Europe album, Harry Belafonte have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. I am not a real Folk music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Live Europe’ really is amazing. Live Europe constantly brilliant.
Turn the World around have really caught my ear and imagination.
Listen to that Man - Okay, I just talked about depth. Iland in the Sun is a bit of a show-tune. Skin to Skin is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Matilda has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. I loved I’m Somebody the first time I heard it. Help me Loard - This one is lively and fun. Boun je as a highlight of Live Europe contains a ton of perfect melodies. I listened to the opening track Try to remember and liked it a lot. Weaping - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. In Coconut Woman the music gets its power. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Kingstentown marked the continuation of Harry Belafonte in style evolution. Day Ohh has a fun tempo. I’ve found myself listening to Releas back to back and back many times.
