After seeing Working Class Hero, I had to have a good John Lennon cd. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of John Lennon energies, virtually a rebirth. Anthology (CD 1) - Ascot carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about John Lennon ever.
Long Lost John gives taste of what makes John Lennon special as a musician.
In God you won’t find any flashy solos. I believe I Found Out is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt songs ever written. John Lennon is hitting on all cylinders in Hold On. Isolation - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Love - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of John Lennon. In Mother full palet of sound is used by John Lennon to accentuate the presentation. I hope to keep hearing John Lennon works for a long time to come. Imagine (take 1) is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Fortunately is a bit of a show-tune. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. This song may be the most meaningful. Jealous Guy - Okay, I just talked about depth. Maggie Mae is one of these floating songs. How Do You Sleep sets the tone for the entire album. I’ve found myself listening to God Save Oz back to back and back many times. Excellent vocals and musical performances. I Don’t Want To Be A Soldier is another strong production from John Lennon. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Give Peace A Chance from the beginning to the end. Put Look At Me into car stereo for your highway driving
