After debuting at No. 1 last week, The Kinks’s album Kinda Kinks falls to No. 2 with 272,000, a sales slide of 52%. This -song debut EP shows the promise that The Kinks has. Now signed to The Kinks’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “Kinda Kinks” leads The Kinks’s back-to-school campaign. Kinda Kinks constantly brilliant.
It’s so catchy, it’s amazing.
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. I like to sing along with Nothing In The World Can Stop Me From Worrin’ ‘Bout That Girl, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Naggin’ Woman is worth the money. Music and lyrics of Wonder Where My Baby Is Tonight creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Tired of Waiting For You gets you up and jumping. Dancing In The Street defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. The sound of Come On Now is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. So Long is probably one of The Kinks’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. You Shouldn’t Be Sad is astounding. Something Better Beginning is another favourite of mine. I Need You makes a person feel astounding. Music in See My Friends is gorgeous as in all tracks of Kinda Kinks. Still going through Kinda Kinks and coming to appreciate Never Met A Girl Like You Before more and more with every listen. I Go To Sleep is a great opener for Kinda Kinks. It’s a great pleasure to listen to See My Friends (bonus track) from the beginning to the end. A unique and uplifting song. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Wait Till Summer Comes Along (bonus track) because the melody in the chorus is so good. When listening to Such A Shame (bonus track), it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Well Respected Man (bonus track) is a very catchy tune. Don’t You Fret (bonus track) - A nice song. Song I Go to Sleep (bonus track, demo) is actually a funny song.
