Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Travis Tritt on ‘Too Far To Turn Around’. On My Honky Tonk History album, Travis Tritt have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Self-described as Country with lots of words, Travis Tritt comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Honky-Tonk History is one of the best records ever.
One listen to the sheer beauty of The Girl’s Gone Wild was all I needed. What Say You is perfect. I love the melodic melody of Circus Leaving Town and to this day it makes me feel good. When I listen to Monkey Around in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Travis Tritt sings I See Me in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. When Good Ol’ Boys Go Bad is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Music of We’ve Had It All is gentle, never overbearing. It’s All About The Money is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Best song on the album, love it. I now have When In Rome as one of my personal favorites.
