This is one of the best Cd’s Wumpscut has dropped to date. five years ago, Wumpscut briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “In The Night”. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Wumpscut’s album Mesner Tracks falls to No. 2 with 590,000, a sales slide of 65%. This album is in perfect progression from Wumpscut!
Black Death is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot.
No Wumpscut song has come close to capturing my attention as In The Night did. Lindbergh - For me, this is the best of the album. War Combattery - This one makes me want to not only sing along. The first time I listened to Ain’t It Mad, Yet I was struck by its cool sound. Ceremony is astounding and different song. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Wumpscut must have run out of lyrics on the next track Cry Weisenstein Cry. Cold Cell is one of the best records ever. Uk Decay actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Wumpscut’s face. Crate has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Wumpscut’s strong vocals come to the fore. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Mesner Tracks is Jesus Gone. Although Mother is very melodic it is far from sad. Overtures is a striking and quite long song.
