On Ethnicity album, Yanni have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Now signed to Yanni’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Ethnicity” leads Yanni’s back-to-school campaign. Lead single “Rites Of Passage” and “For All Seasons” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If I may, I suggest “Rites Of Passage”. That one song is amazing!
Best song on the album, love it.
This track is full of harmonies and gets Ethnicity off to a relaxing start. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Ethnicity. Rainmaker is one of the coolest songs Yanni has ever recorded. Written On The Wind is a strong cut, one of many. Playing By Heart is nothing but pure genius. First time I heard At First Sight was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I like to sing along with Almost A Whisper, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. No Yanni song has come close to capturing my attention as Never Too Late did. Play Time is worth the money. Jivaeri (Jiva-Eri) is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song.
